Hawaiian red sea salt, known as alaea salt, is a traditional salt for seasoning and preserving foods in the Hawaiian Islands.  Alaea is volcanic baked red clay that enriches the salt with iron oxide and gives alaea salt its distinctive pink color.

Hawaiian red sea salt is the traditional and authentic seasoning for native Hawaiian dishes such as kalua pig, poke and Hawaiian jerky.  Delicious on both prime rib and pork loin, our Hawaiian red sea salt is coarse-grained with a subtle flavor that is mellower than most sea salts.
